The Edelbrock Intake Manifold Gasket is tailored to match up well with intake ports on the Edelbrock Performer and Performer RPM heads and manifolds. The gasket is made from composite material with a steel core and it has a stock port style. The intake gasket features an embossed silicone bead surrounding the ports for a positive seal. The port size measures 1.28 wide, 2.09 height and 0.06 thick. Impervious to most chemicals including gasoline, alcohol, coolant and oils these gaskets provide optimum sealing in intermittent operating temperature up to 400 degrees. the only way the intake would get coolant in it from the head gasket would be the intake valve and if that is open the cylinder is in a vacuum. the plenum has the coolant/gas gunk in it. is there a reasonable way that the coolant would get up into the dry plenum from a head gasket failure. so it would suck the coolant into the cylinder but as cylinder pressure builds the intake has to be closed, effectively sealing the passage to the intake plenum. does this seem more like a head gasket or could it be the intake. it seems that it would have to be an intake gasket failure for that to happen.

if running heat cross over be sure to insulate carb from intake from over heating, boiling carb. I block mine off but i spend extra time in getting my tune in. As the intake heats up or cools down can really change your tune on carb. so the heat cross over really regulates your air temp of fuel going threw intake ports. whatever it takes to keep heat transfer into carb and super heat fuel.
