Daughter loves it!
Sleigh Toddler Bed - OakMy husband and I recently purchased this bed in oak for our 26 month old daughter. It was time for her to have a "Big Girl Bed" that wasn't quite full-sized, but still gave her the ability to get in and out on her own.We're thrilled with the quality of the bed. My husband was able to put it together in a reasonably short period of time (about an hour from unpacking to clean-up)--and came with all the tools necessary to put it together. Aligning all the slats can be a bit of a pain because you have to put all 10 together on one side, and then attempt to put the other side on without them falling out or slipping out of place; other than that it went together fine and all the pieces fit together without any problem.It fits a standard sized crib mattress (not included), and the bottom slats provide enough stability for the mattress so that even my eight year old has been able to throw her weight on it (although I did tell her...

When my first son was ready to move to a toddler bed, I purchased one from another company. After trying three times to get a bed that had not been destroyed during shipping due to poor packaging, I ordered this DaVinci toddler bed, which arrived well-packed and in excellent condition. I was so pleased with the sturdiness and quality of this bed right from the start, and I was able to put it together by myself in under 30 minutes (even with my 2-year-old "helping"). Now, 18 months later, the bed is still in excellent condition, even with two toddler boys playing on it regularly. My younger son is now leaving his crib, and I purchased a second identical bed for him. Again, this bed arrived without even a scratch. Both of my boys love their beds, as does their Mama. For quality, style, and durability, I give a hearty two thumbs up!

sweet and cute
We got this bed to transition our 2 year old out of his crib. It's easy to put together, well made, nice finish. It fit his crib mattress perfectly. It's only about 12" off of the floor, so even if he wriggled around so much that he fell out (past the side bars, not likely), he wouldn't fall very far (and it's never happened). It's great that it's so low, because he can get into bed by himself. The only caveat is that it has a 70 lb. weight limit, so don't kneel on it when you are tucking in, and our 5 year old boy can't play with his little brother on it. No great loss. Definitely recommend it.

This is a great little bed
This bed is great for the price, and the quality of the pieces. Assembly is easy, and the pieces fit better than any piece of pre fab furniture I've ever assembled. The mattress from your crib fits on the bed, so you don't have to get a new one. The height is perfect for little ones, they can get in themselves very easy. The side rails could be a little bit longer, they don't really keep the kid in bed that well, but overall it is a really good buy.

After reading the reviews I kind of thought that some of the people who had trouble with assembly were just a little slow on reading directions. Having assembled a LOT of furniture myself, I would consider myself a pro at furniture assembly. About an hour in the assembly process I would have said that every one was crazy but one single screw cost me about 45 minutes. I also had the entire bed assembled only to find that I'd put two of the bottom support rails in upside down and would have to take the entire bed apart (none of the parts are labeled and like other people have said, it's hard to determine which piece is which in a few instances). I'd say that the misunderstanding was more my fault than anything else but if things were labeled properly, it wouldn't have been a problem. My only disappointment with the bed is that it is not the same color espresso as my other bedroom furniture (crib, night stand, and a cube system that all match). The wood is a little lighter than espresso...

all the features in one crib
I was on the fence about spending $600 on a solid crib or this one. I finally decided on this one because as it turned out, the expensive Sorelle also used cam-locks on most of their cribs. So that was the deal breaker. The Kalani is sturdy despite the few cam-locks. Grandpa had no problem with the assembly and finished within an hour. This is for my 3rd child as I converted the old one already. Features that were hard to find in one crib but offered in this one:1. rich cherry finish that complements other cherry furniture in the baby's room.2. heavy and sturdy3. 4 height settings. absolutely beautiful and no problem with scratching
I scoured reviews to find the best crib for our baby. The Da Vinci Emily was top-rated by Consumer Reports, but this one wasn't rated at all. The Emily and the Kalani seem very similar, and this one was rated just as well by all the online reviews, so we bought this one in espresso after months of charting out the positives and negatives of all the espresso cribs I could find.First, the positives. It took my husband and I about two hours to assemble this crib. We weren't in a hurry, and the directions were straightforward, but it just took some time to make sure it was all put together correctly. The wood is gorgeous! Solid crib with horrible finish.
First the good. The crib is beautiful and it's very sturdy. The wood is great and I do love it. It is a little difficult for me because I'm short and the front doesn't go down, but I also like it for the same reason. There are no moveable parts to pinch little fingers. I like how the whole crib doesn't move when my daughter jumps up and down.But, the finish is terrible. It scratches extreamly easily and there are teeth marks all up and down the rails. I scratched it on accident with just my fingernail. We are going to have to refinish it when my daughter is older.

Great first bed
We purchased this bed for our daughter because we had to return a borrowed crib. We started her in the bed when she was 15 months old for nap time. Using all the rails and turning the bed around prevented her from getting out. Once she was used to the bed we removed one of the rails so she could get in and out on her own. She has been in it ever since. It was a 2 person project to put together, but nothing that 2 non-handy people couldn't handle. She is now 27 months and still loves her bed. It is low enough that even if they do get out at night, there is little chance that they will hurt themselves. We are getting ready to convert it to a bed since our daughter is tall and nearly reaches end to end when she stretches out!I would recommend this bed for a first bed. Look around though, there is one site (Kelley Furniture) that offers free shipping!!!!

Gone thru 2 kids...
We 1st purchased this bed nearly 4 yrs ago. Loved it then, still love it now. Our 2nd child has just about outgrown this great toddler bed and we're getting ready to to sell it. It has certainly taken some abuse. Toys have been banged and thrown at it & it does have some dents/small gouges on it, but I think any kind of wood furniture would have that b/c lets face it, kids are not gentle with toys. Both kids jumped on it(together) and it's still holding up well.I also loved how I could remove one of the side rails when they were ready to be a little more independent. A great bed.

It was first time we had ordered a furniture from Amazon. This bed is very well made and looks very elegant. Assembling side boards was very easy but mattress frame was very tricky. took lot of trial and error. I would have liked if they had provided some kind of cap to cover holes.

Amazing Little Bed!!!
I bought this for my daughter who is 17 Months because she was already crawling out of her crib and I didn't want her to get hurt from falling out. Despite some of the reviews I was hesitant to purchase it, But for the price and because it was so adorable I couldn't pass it up. It took about 45 minutes or so to put it together which wasn't bad at all (and I'm pregnant) and all the parts fit perfectly including the draw. (which does NOT stick as some reviews stated) Although the draw is not deep it would be suitable for storage of sheets, pillow cases and thin blankets. All in all I give it 5 Stars it is perfect for what I needed it for and my daughter absolutely loves it. For the first time I actually got to sleep in this morning because she quietly got out of her bed and played for a half and hour or so until I came into peek on her and see what she was up to. My only concern is that the toddler rail is a little short but the bed is so close to the ground even if she were to fall out...

Not bad . . . but not great, either.
We ordered this toddler bed to give our little guy an extra place to hang out & relax in our master bedroom. His favorite episodes of Jack's Big Music Show are saved on the Tivo in there; but he doesn't like sitting on our bed. With a Saint Bernard and a Great Pyrenees battling for bed space, I can't say I blame him! :)Anyway, the bed is just okay. Two of the rails that hold the mattress in place aren't long enough for the frame, so they fall out of place every time we lift the mattress to change the waterproof pad & fitted sheet. I tried using a little wood glue to hold the slats in place, but the pegs are just way too short & keep falling out of the pre-drilled holes. (It's built like a futon or a platform bed frame.)The other problem? The screws that hold the half rail in place are too short, and it's already snapped off. He's not a big kid - only 27# at 18 months old - so it wasn't from him being too heavy for the bed. I think it's just a design...
