Great desk for a low price.
Please keep in mind that I am a single mother (not a handy man or Bob the Builder) while reading this review. This desk took me (and only myself) about a little over an hour to completely put together. I found the instructions easy to understand because I can follow picture diagrams fairly well. I'll admit, some parts made did confuse me a bit, but after reading over it once more, I understood. I felt warned when I read previous reviews on this product, but went ahead and bought the desk for the low price anyway, and I do love it. It's very sturdy, which I didn't expect at all. It also has a very nice and modern look to it. It's also quite heavy. I do believe it is a good buy and would recommend this to anyone who has been eying it like I was.

Nice desk for the price
My fiance put this together and he said it took him 2.5 hours to do it, but he's pretty handy when it comes to putting things together. He said it wasn't too bad, but not a walk in the park either.I like the desk - it's somewhat difficult to find a decent desk with shelves, a hutch, and a drawer for less than $100, so the price was just right for my graduate student budget. My previous "desk" was simply a table from IKEA, and although the table was about 20 inches longer than this desk I feel more organized and less cluttered now that I have a drawer and shelves. The little hutch top is perfect for my 19" monitor, my docking station, and my computer speakers; I put my laptop underneath the hutch, my keyboard on the shelf and I still have plenty of work space plus room for pencil cups or whatnot. I would advise that you buy a separate printer stand if you want ample space, though; I did and I'm really glad I did.There are two downsides. Number one, the desk...

I ordered two of these so my husband and I could have matching desks. They arrived prior to the delivery estimation which was awesome. He put them both together and this took approximately 4 hours total. They're super cute and clean looking and the drawer is large enough to hold legal pad sized documents. I would definitely recommend them to people looking for an easy way to spruce up their computer area. I do have a couple of things to note: You need to be home when they deliver them as they require a signature. (We made this mistake on the first delivery try.) Also, it should be noted that the largest person in my household is 5'7" and 125lbs and I am just hitting the 5'3" 115lbs marker. When using these desks our legs fit underneath, but just barely. I have to sit back a bit if I want to cross them underneath me. So perhaps this would be a better purchase for tweens and the vertically challenged.All in all, a great buy for the money especially with the free...

The importance of the guard
I write this review in the hopes that more parents will buy this product. I have used it for two years know on my living room furniture and it has prevented numerous serious accidents. I do suggest though you use this product on any sharp edge object in your home. I say this because recently my 3yr old fell from a play chair in his room and hit his head on his bedrail cutting his head open to the bone. It was the most horrifying event in my life and I feel that if I had placed this product along the rail of my son's bed this accident could have been prevented. My son is doing well; however it could have been much more serious. I now use this product on items such as the toy box, dresser courners, bedrail, shelf edging, and any other sharp edge I find in my home. I know that accidents will happen, but they can be prevented by simply using the safety products that are provided to us by companies such as this. Good Protection - that won't last
I purchased this table guard about a month ago. I feel that the padding itself is pretty cushiony (especially if compared to the expandable table guards) and I feel it would prevent a child from seriously hurting themselves if they should run into the table. However, I also felt there were a few problems. You have to apply the four pre-cut foam corners to the table (easy), then you have to measure the rest of the foam, which is one long piece, to fit your table--and you have to be EXACT so USE A TAPE MEASURER (easy). However, cutting the foam was NOT that easy. The directions suggest you use a serrated bread knife - we opted to use a razor knife - but still ended up with some gaps. This certainly does NOT look good and cannot be fixed! The tape they give you to apply to the table is NOT very durable and I don't see it lasting. I don't know how easy the tape itself comes off the table, but I do know that the foam is constantly coming off of the tape. Plus small children, like mine,... Top to learn more

$50-$60 seems a bit expensive for something that cost less than $1.50 to manufacture..but I guess the solution it provides is what matters most. It does the job, organizes, creates space on your desk, and is adjustable. Top to learn more

Perfect rack for Mac Mini's
First of all, what you get: The unit consists of two MDF boards (top & bottom) and three wire uprights that form the sides. The uprights fit into holes in the boards and are screwed in from the top & bottom. The fit is very good and the unit is sturdy. It comes with 10 sliding shelves made of some composite material. This is more than I expected. In the photo, they only show 5 of the shelves in use. So getting 10 shelf boards was an unexpected plus.The shelf height turns out to be perfect to fit a Mac Mini. Each shelf is big enough to hold the Mini plus its power supply (for pre-2010 minis, the new ones don't have external power bricks). I used stick-on cable tie holders on the shelves to hold down the power bricks with cable ties, and used small pieces of double-stick foam tape to keep the Minis from sliding. Pros:- flexible organizing options because you have many shelves & can choose varying configurations for you storage needs.- easy to assemble - you will need a medium size phillips head screwdriver for the 12 screws. It is machined accurately, so there is no problem getting each of the poles into their corresponding holes.- considering it's size, the wire supports make structure look open & not like a squat monolith.- they give you plastic tabs that lock on to the wire supports that you can attach a label to (labels not included).cons:- the top and bottom shelves are cheap - one corner on each was damaged- the middle shelves slide in too easily. When putting a stack of papers on one of them, the shelf moved along with the papers. Since the back is open, this means that the things you put on a shelf can easily slip out the back. I'm thinking that smaller receipts saved for tax purposes will have to go into an envelope before putting on... Top to learn more
