Did what I needed it to do
Instead of paying the dealer $90 to read why my airbag light was on, I bought this reader for my 2002 New Beetle. I was able to determine the cause of the light and reset/clear the code and turn the light off. The cause was a common thing across all VWs with wiring connectors becoming loose beneath the seats (most newer VWs have airbags in the seats) which causes the airbag light to go on. I was also able to see other codes that didn't cause any lights to come on. Great little reader and the supplied CD has a 200+ page PDF file with all the VW codes and what they are. That and Google are your friend. Excellent product for the price!

Beginning in the 1980s new vehicles began to be wired with a variety of computerized diagnostic systems designed to improve efficiencies, simplify troubleshooting and minimize the need for repairs. These systems produce indicators known as diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) internally, usually indicating something out of the ordinary by illuminating the "check engine"/malfunction indicator light (MIL) on the dashboard of your car. In the 1990s these systems, codes and the hardware connectors used to access them were standardized in North America as OBD (onboard diagnostics) and later OBD-II. Europe uses the equivalent EOBD, but Volkswagen and Audi vehicles also use another diagnostic standard system, VAG. Unofficially this acronym can be taken to stand for "Volkswagen Audi Group."

Hard core
I had bad luck with specialty tools lately.These have been the best. I had some really old splines on my 944 some had damaged heads. I was able to beat these into the damaged bolts and pull out the splines with little to no damage to the tool itself. (which I wouldn't recommend doing unless you had no alternative)

Assenmacher, a cut above.
Don't sit there thinking and wondering if you should get this one or get a cheaper set from someone else. Don't waste your money on cheap junk tools. Assenmacher is top quality, and their tools not only FIT, but last and last as well. Full kit in a nice plastic case so you're not digging in your socket drawer for the right bit. If Assenmacher is one of the choices that I can make, then it will be my first choice.

Worth every penny
This book has helped me save a lot of money and time when dealing with my 2006 A4 Quattro. It had detailed instructions, electrical schematics AND pictures. Even if I don't actually have the time to do the work myself I would still be able to read this book and know enough so that the dealership wouldn't be able to rip me off.

THe most complete repair manual you can get without a degree
This is the best publication for auto repair you can get without going to trades school. They are way way expensive and I hate that. BUT when you think about how much a auto garage charges per hour.. just doing one repair yourself will save you the cost of this book. I now own 3 of these books for different vehicles. They are really technical, but they explain what they mean and most anyone with basic understanding and who has the patience to read through the whole thing can figure it out.Great books. very highly recommended.

Why Bentley manuals are ZE best!
Product is as described, brand new, still wrapped hardcover Bentley manual for my b7 Audi. Bentley manuals, especially in paper form, are the best thing to have in your car or garage. First off they offer the most comprehensive repair procedures around. The DVD's that sell for a few bucks cheaper are only good for reference. I dont carry around my laptop with me when I work on my car, I certainly don't want dirt, oil or other fluids getting on my laptop. So while the Bentley manual run for $100, there is nothing better that this for your informational needs.

About 2.5 inches thick, like a phone book.The images and text are good, but not sufficient - you'll need to look up supplementary info on the web, or have a cheapo Hayne's manual alongside to be efficient with it.
