Did what I needed it to do
Instead of paying the dealer $90 to read why my airbag light was on, I bought this reader for my 2002 New Beetle. I was able to determine the cause of the light and reset/clear the code and turn the light off. The cause was a common thing across all VWs with wiring connectors becoming loose beneath the seats (most newer VWs have airbags in the seats) which causes the airbag light to go on. I was also able to see other codes that didn't cause any lights to come on. Great little reader and the supplied CD has a 200+ page PDF file with all the VW codes and what they are. That and Google are your friend. Excellent product for the price!

It works on four main systems: engine, transmission, airbag and ABS. It also is helpful in checking for potential problems prior to purchasing a car. Reliable Handheld Automotive Diagnostics for VW and Audi Models Beginning in the 1980s new vehicles began to be wired with a variety of computerized diagnostic systems designed to improve efficiencies, simplify troubleshooting and minimize the need for repairs. These systems produce indicators known as diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) internally, usually indicating something out of the ordinary by illuminating the "check engine"/malfunction indicator light (MIL) on the dashboard of your car. In the 1990s these systems, codes and the hardware connectors used to access them were standardized in North America as OBD (onboard diagnostics) and later OBD-II. Europe uses the equivalent EOBD, but Volkswagen and Audi vehicles also use another diagnostic standard system, VAG. Unofficially this acronym can be taken to stand for "Volkswagen Audi Group." If it has an old-style 2x2 Data Link Connector (DTC), then it depends on whether there are 4 or 3 wires connecting to the pins. If there are 4 wires, each connecting a pin, then it will work. If there are only 3 wires, leaving one pin disconnected, then it will not. To use, simply plug the RDT45 code reader cable connector into the corresponding data port in your vehicle, usually located near the dashboard or gearshift, while the engine is off. Then switch the ignition on and scroll to the right menu option users can gain access to generic and vehicle specific VAG and OBD-II codes related primarily to the engine, transmission, airbag and ABS systems that trigger MIL events. Definitions for the DTCs can be found in your manual or via the CD definitions lists in on the CD included. Missed my model on the fringe
Book has great diagrams. This is not a repair manual but a reference manual. My model is a 1998 A6 Quattro wagon. Several places, primarily in the electrical stuff, it misses my model or the picts do not show whats really in my car. Instance is there is no wiring diagram for the "1998 central locking system". Diagrams start with 1999. Also, no picts to show where windows system breakers are located for this model. A pict and diagram shows them to be under the drivers foot well, but after taking my panels off, its no where to be seen.Great introduction section in the beginning of the manual to discuss differences between models, years, and options. Good functional info on transmissions and engines there too.So far, its the best there is out there, but as most all these type books, they fall short. It is worth it for the info and diagrams it does contain.

Complete Audi Manual for Shop or Home
The Bentley A4 manual is a very complete manual. The over all ease of accessing different service info is helpful when trouble shooting most problems. The diagrams are very clear to include the electrical images. The code chart is a must to be able to read the codes concerning all manner of stored computer codes. This is a manual for someone who has knowledge of auto mechanics. There are no step-by-step directions as with some other do-it-yourself automobile manuals.

Loads of info. This book definitely gives you the correct factory info, saved my @$$ many times.With that, it is still GOOD, a NECESSITY (perhaps a necessary evil?).

Best GL-4 fluid there is. Do not use GL-5 fluid if GL-4 is specified!
This is one awesome GL-4 fluid. It does everything it is supposed to and more, just as Redline promised. It smoothed out my transmission that I thought was potentially damaged. I was skeptical at first but no more. It was also cheaper than very expensive (and wrong, for my car) fluids at all the local stores that they tried to sell me.Some background info is in order, if you are interested.Many think all gear lube is the same, as long as you pick the right weight. Even many mechanics pay no attention to anything other than weight. Well, wrong, although it used to be true. Unlike motor oil, gear lube is indeed made different for different applications, even for the same weights, as newer cars requirements are so different from older cars. Mistake one: I had a pro shop change the gear lube in a manual tranny pushing close to 200k.I figured it was time :) If you want it done right, do it yourself, but I was lazy that day. I specifically requested them...

Good product
I had put in royal purple in my trans didn't like it to slick 3rd gear wanted to grind a little when cold in the morning. The redlline mt-90 much better the trans feels a lot smoother.When I start it up in the morning it will go right into reverse with out clutching it first.Before I always had to put it in neutral and let the clutch out once before it would go into reverse very good gear oil.I think it would be hard to find a better one.

Redline rocks!
I've been a longtime Redline lubricants fan because of their high quality and specific properties of the products themselves. In this case, (MT-90) the key property is to provide enough friction between gearshifts to allow the synchronizers to slow down and provide smooth gearshifts. This is not an easy task to perform while still lubricating and being slippery enough to provide a consistent oil film, lubricity, resistance to thermal breakdown and long fluid life. If you have an older transmission that's getting more difficult to shift, Redline MT-90 can improve it and extend the time before a rebuild is necessary.

Red Line Oil MTL and MT-90 are designed to provide excellent protection and improved shiftability for manual transmissions and transaxles, having cured the problem of hard shifting in thousands of transmissions with shifting troubles. They have the appropriate coefficient of friction for most manual transmission synchronizers (many gear oils, engine oils, and ATFs are too slippery for proper synchro engagement). And, the wide viscosity of MTL and MT-90 allow proper shifting over the entire temperature range which the transmission will experience. The synthetic base oils used have a very high viscosity index which provides relatively constant viscosity as temperature changes. MTL is a low 70W at very low temperatures and a high 80W, nearly an 85W, at elevated temperatures, providing adequate viscosity to prevent wear and deaden gear noise. MT-90 is a thicker 75W90 version of MTL. The shear stability and oxidation stability of these products are excellent, thus the physical characteristics of Red Line MTL and MT-90 will change little with use. Top to learn more

Worth every penny
This book has helped me save a lot of money and time when dealing with my 2006 A4 Quattro. It had detailed instructions, electrical schematics AND pictures. Even if I don't actually have the time to do the work myself I would still be able to read this book and know enough so that the dealership wouldn't be able to rip me off.

THe most complete repair manual you can get without a degree
This is the best publication for auto repair you can get without going to trades school. They are way way expensive and I hate that. BUT when you think about how much a auto garage charges per hour.. just doing one repair yourself will save you the cost of this book. I now own 3 of these books for different vehicles. They are really technical, but they explain what they mean and most anyone with basic understanding and who has the patience to read through the whole thing can figure it out.Great books. very highly recommended.

Why Bentley manuals are ZE best!
Product is as described, brand new, still wrapped hardcover Bentley manual for my b7 Audi. Bentley manuals, especially in paper form, are the best thing to have in your car or garage. First off they offer the most comprehensive repair procedures around. The DVD's that sell for a few bucks cheaper are only good for reference. I dont carry around my laptop with me when I work on my car, I certainly don't want dirt, oil or other fluids getting on my laptop. So while the Bentley manual run for $100, there is nothing better that this for your informational needs.
