Works as advertised
Used the kit on a 2000 Subaru with hazy plastic headlight covers. Took my time and buffed a small section at a time. Polished up the headlights as good as new. There are still little dings in the headlight, but now nice and clear. If the headlight is cracked and has moisture and stuff on the inside, this will clearly not fix that so don't expect it to. Follow directions and it works. Use a plug in grill unless you have a couple of batteries for your cordless.

Simple and it works but could last longer
I couldn't find any reviews on how long this product's effect last when I was considering buying it. So this may help some of you on the fence. My cars are not garaged and sit in the sun & elements 24x7.The product is simple to install on my power drill. I had to be very careful about the speed & angle of the drill because even though the pad is soft, the plastic backing of the pad can scuff up the plastic headlight. I had to keep it perfectly perpendicular to the lens's surface. Secondly, the pad quickly becomes matted but simply rinse with water and spin it dry to clean it.The result is almost instantaneous and makes my headlights look over 90% new. It made cloudy headlights crystal clear again; fine small scratches disappeared too. The large chips and deep cracks won't go away since this is only a polishing and not sanding "restoration". It doesn't leave a slick or oily residue...just a smooth finish.Importantly for me though was how long my...

Excellent lighting, fair quality construction, great value for money.
I installed these lights on a Saab 900SE next to a set of KC Pencil Beam driving lights. While they are not the quality of the KC lights, they are nevertheless reasonable quality and VERY good value for the money.Install was typical - no easier or harder than installing any other brand.Light output with 55 watt bulbs is EXCELLENT with a TIGHT, LONG RANGE BEAM. Not quite as focused as the KCs - but there isn't much in it -- and the light output seems as bright as the KCs with 100 watt bulbs.Because the housing is plastic I have not run the Hella's with 100 watt or 130 watt bulbs, I may give it a try during the winter.For me the wiring harness was a little light -- especially since I commonly use 100 watts bulbs, but so long as you use a relay to switch the lights and keep the runs short it will be more than adequate - but I'm an "overkill" type when it comes to wiring so I replaced the harnesses with #12 Tefzel (aircraft) wire for each... HELLA 500 FF Driving Lights - Very Nice
Ok, the 500FF driving lights are a good design in how it projects the light in front of the vehicle. I have been driving with Hellas in both my cars and 4x4s since 1985. They make damn good driving lights both on and off-road. I say that the 500s in stock form do a nice job in the city. However, if you do any off-roading and these are the only auxilary lights you have then I would recommend upgrading the bulbs to a 100W or 130W. Of course the modification will make them unusable in city driving.Personally I have adopted these as fog lights with crystal ion fog bulbs from PIAA. The PIAA bulbs and Hella 500s are a perfect match and work great in snow and dense fog. I don't like the conventional fog lights because the light pattern spreads too much light above the hood which is not needed.I have a FJ Cruiser with a grill guard where these puppies are mounted on the lower crossmember close to the ground. great lights great price!
I bought these to replace the factory fog lamps on my wifes 2004 Subaru Forester, which were trashed from 130K of hard use. Had to do some "creative engineering" to get them to fit into the holes in the front bumper but they came out great! The wiring instructions are a little bit hard to follow and mt lights didn't include them in the package (downloaded the PDF [...]) Once I puzzled them out the wiring harness is well thought out and made installing the light pretty bomb-proof. Good replacement unit
I installed this unit on a 2001 A6 sedan. Overall, it is a nice looking headlight assembly. It comes with light bulbs installed, although I swapped out bulbs with the old headligh unit. The curve of the front may be a little different from the original, but it looks fine installed on the car. I was able to install without removing the bumper (the Audi manual says you need to do this), see Audiworld forums for installation help. Only downside was the back cover that came with the unit was a little larger and I couldn't get the wire clips to close. I chose to re-install the old back-cover. Top to learn more
