Worked great to eliminate smoke scent from air conditioning system
I purchased a car that had been smoked in. The dealer did an treatment, which worked great to eliminate the smell from the passenger compartment, but when we fired up the AC system it was quite smoky. After doing a lot of research online, I settled on this 1Z einszett 'Klima-Cleaner' product.. it sounded scary, but I read plenty of reviews online of people who had no problems with it. I also read that it's *very*important* to read the instructions and follow them exactly - all the reports that I had found of people who had foam spray all over their car and such had either put it down the wrong vent, turned the can upside down while spraying, etc. In any case, I did a bit of research on my car (2009 Mercury Sable), and it looked like the center vent would be the right spot to get it down to the core, where it will drain out the...

Worked great!
This did a great job getting rid of the mildew / mold smell in the AC ducts on a used car I recently purchased. As a bonus, it also helped with the cigarette smoke smell. (The instructions say to run the AC on recirculate after spraying this in the duct, so it is blown all around the inside of the car; hence the help with the smoky odor.)I was going to rate it a 4 stars since I think I may have to retreat the car now that a few months have gone by, but decided on 5 since it really smelled pretty foul when I got it and a second treatment is not unreasonable given that... And the smell that came back is a minor fraction of what it was. The car is nearly normal, but I am pretty picky.I am not sure how this would have leaked on an ECM as another poster mentioned, as these are usually mounted higher up under the dash, under the toe kick side panels, or under the seats.

5 years ago we bought a used car from a smoker. Despite using a zillion different cleaning products/methods and enough chemicals to create my own ozone hole, I could never eliminate the stale smoke stink. I accidentally found this product while researching something else. I was skeptical, VERY skeptical about it working, but was intrigued by the concept of cleaning the condenser - it made sense that it would be dirty and smelly, especially if the AC was on recirculate while someone was smoking in the car. I also knew that in my car, the smoke smell was stronger in the front seats vs. the 2 sets of rear seats...enough "evidence" to convince me to try the cleaner. The instructions are easy: stick the tube into the center vent, press until the can is empty and then wait 1/2 an hour. I have 2 center vents, and of course chose the wrong one. Foam started coming out the other center opening very quickly, so I just stopped spraying and reinserted the tube into the other center vent...
