Cheap but effective
I ordered this to communicate with my late model Triumph motorcycle ECU. This is the same model as is sold on eBay from various Chinese retailers but I chose Amazon because of the improved return policy over eBay sellers. The item is fulfilled by Amazon which means I received it promptly and in secure packaging.While the picture shows a translucent blue device, the one I received is solid black plastic, I can only assume this is due to variations in suppliers or manufacturing.It worked on my first attempt to connect using the free TuneECU software (when using the recommended FTDI drivers not the ones supplied with the device). What can I say more than that? I haven't tested it with a hundred different vehicles, but I do know for my one application it worked perfectly on my first attempt.EDIT: To those wishing to purchase this who are dissuaded by the negative reviews, please note: This does NOT come with any software. In fact, the driver CD it does...

Does everything I need it to.
I ordered this cable to interface to my 1999 Triumph Sprint ST motorcycle. I used the excellent (and free) TuneECU software, and after installing the FTDI driver as instructed on the TuneECU website, I was immediately able to download and upload maps to the engine computer, view the different sensor outputs, and even run some diagnostics.The only thing that was different from the description was that the cable I received was all black instead of a catchy translucent blue. I could care less, the cable works great.

Works as expected
Seems to work fine on my 05 WRX with Romraider for logging and EcuFlash 1.29 for ECU operations. I just got the drivers from FTDI and use it on an Eee pc running Windows XP.Addendum:As I said above, it seems to work fine for just logging or reading the ECU, but I couldn't get it to flash the ECU; kept getting a low voltage warning in EcuFlash. Found a forum post with a hack to get it to work, which is really easy to do if you know how to solder. Can't post a link in the review, but you just open up the casing on the OBD connector side and jump pins 16 and 11 on the back of the OBD connector.

Good feature set for the price. Probably not as great as more expensive units.
I purchased and installed this unit yesterday. It does do what it says: radio/CD/Bluetooth connection for phone and audio streaming. It does seem to do these things well, and pairing with my iPhone 3G (w/3.0 software) was easy enough. However, there are a few limitations/annoyances that you should be aware of:1) Single-line display gives no input as to who is on the phone, or what is playing through streaming bluetooth audio. Not a problem for me, but numerous car stereos (all more expensive) will do that.2) The microphone used for bluetooth calling is embedded in the unit. For me, this is a plus: the lack of external microphone makes my care look cleaner. For others, this may be a minus: the embedded microphone is probably less effective at picking up your voice than an external microphone would be. If you plan on talking through the phone a lot, you may want to spring for a more expensive unit that focuses on doing this task better.3)... Top to learn more

Money well spent for Bluetooth audio streaming.
My main motivation for purchasing this receiver was to have the ability to stream audio from my iPhone 3GS. I've only had this unit installed for a couple of days , so I can't speak for the reliability but I find the sound quality to be excellent in that regard. Before this I was using the Motorola T505 FM transmitter, which I had for about four months. It was great at first but after a while I got tired of changing frequencies for clear signals and having to charge the battery. The Sony MEXBT2700 took care of all that and now I have one less device to deal with, making life just a little simpler which is key for me. One minor annoyance for me was that, although the iPhone 3GS has limited AVRCP support (play, pause & stop) with OS 3.0, the play/pause commands do not seem to be working for me with the remote as outlined in the manual. Play/Pause does however work for me via the receiver itself. Not really a big deal but I just thought it might be worth mentioning for the other iPhone... Top to learn more

Magellan 4350 - Excellent GPS features (long review)
As this is a lengthy review, those not wanting to wade through the entire text can find a summary under the 'Conclusions' heading.Test Conditions:All tests were conducted in the Northeast U.S. Although I don't own another portable GPS, I do have a factory installed navigation unit in my 2006 Audi which I've utilized for several side-by-side comparisons (the Magellan is actually for my wife's car).Updates to the 4350's operating system and navigational firmware are available at no-cost from Magellan's website. These significantly improve the functionality and stability of the unit and if you own one you'd be making a mistake not to install them. The procedure is made relativity easy by the CD based instruction manual that comes with the unit. It took me about fifteen minutes to bring my unit up to date and in a month of testing since, it has never crashed, frozen, or seriously misbehaved. Excellent GPS, Poor Customer Service
It's been few days since I bought the Magellan 4350. It is an excellent piece of art. It's ready out of the box. Although I had little difficulty connecting it to my smart phone (8125), it worked very well after that. The FM transmitter is a nice feature where you use the car audio system to listen to GPS directions, MP3 and make your own phone conversations with good quality sound. The Magellan 4350 price is not even comparable to the premium price paid for the GPS option built in new vehicle.On the other hand, Magellan customer service is very poor. Cannot even get through and talk to technical support for help. I was going to rate it at 4 stars, but because Magellan has many different GPS products with same weak customer service, I decided to fairly rate this unit (4350) with FIVE stars.After using the unit several times, the GPS directions are clear and very helpful, for example, its instructions for the next turn are clear and helpful that you won't miss... The friend’s son who was quietly studying Latin in the same room suggested to call the new company Audi – a Latin translation of the verb Horch, which means listen.
