Good cable to connect a phone in a case to an iHome.
I bought this dock cable to connect my iPhone 4 to my iHome iH5 since I am using a Otterbox Defender case on my phone. The cable had no problems connecting to the phone with the case on & also charges the phone while it's pluged in. I noticed no drop in audio quality while using the cable. Good price, sturdy build, & avoiding the hassle of removing the phone from the case to dock it makes this cable a good buy.

Durable + Functional + Long = ESSENTIAL!
I used this cable almost every day and night for 9 months until I left it in a hotel room (they say it was never found). During those 9 months, I had bought a much more expensive cable to use with another speaker, (because both were black), and it was awful. I sent both the cable and the speaker back.PROS:1. EASY connections - slips in, stays in, pops out when commanded to do so2. SMOOTH feel - I didn't think about this until I used the black one which was uncomfortably "grippy"3. HELPFUL icons - let you know the "right" way to face the cable for insertion4. LONG length - I can play music through my Fidelio speaker while charging and using my ipod touch 4g5. Amazing that there aren't more products like this
When I added an Ipod interface to my 2010 Forester I was a little surprised to find that the supplied Ipod cable only ran about an inch and a half out of the console. While it was possible to connect the Ipod to this short, stubby cable it meant having to turn the light on in the car, turn around and really work at doing it. Even after attaching it, my Ipod touch just dangled in the console pocket- not exactly an elegant way to position it. I looked long and hard and was very surprised that there really are not that many Ipod extension cables out there that transfer both data/music *and* charge the Ipod. Because this was the only item I could find that clearly stated that it could do both, I was a little hesitant to try it but sure enough, it does exactly what it says it should do. Have had it for about a month now and have had no problems with the construction so far. For my purposes, it did the trick! Recommended.
